Hannum III was quoted in an article entitled “Employers Move to Ban Camera Phones in the Workplace.” With the advances in technology, employment lawyers are urging their clients to restrict employees’ use of personal cell phone cameras in the workplace. There are a myriad of potential problems with the use of cell phone cameras in the workplace, not the least of which is copying confidential documents or placing inappropriate photos of co-workers on internet sites. “Already there are videos from workplaces that are put on youtube.com for humor, which may be embarrassing to the people involved, even if it’s not of a sexual nature. It’s just a step from there to these other [workplace] problems.”
