Mandatory Workplace Notice Issued Under Massachusetts Earned Sick Time Law

[June 12, 2015]  The Massachusetts Attorney General has issued the Notice of Employee Rights that employers will soon be required to post under the state’s new earned sick time law. The poster can be accessed here.

Effective July 1, 2015, the notice must be posted, in a conspicuous location, in each establishment where employees covered under the new law are working. Copies of the notice must also be provided to all covered employees.

In addition, the comment period for the proposed earned sick time regulations has now closed. We anticipate that the regulations will be finalized by the Attorney General’s office by June 19 and issued shortly thereafter.

We will be delving into the details of the earned sick time law and the final regulations at three upcoming trainings in our Andover office, on June 25, July 8, and September 10, 2015. During those sessions, we will also address the new Massachusetts domestic violence and parental leave laws, and the interaction among the three laws. Please see our Seminars & Programs page for registration information.
