Recent Changes to Massachusetts Unemployment Insurance Pamphlet

The hours of operation of the Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance’s (“DUA”) TeleClaim Center have changed, resulting in revisions to the standardized pamphlet issued by the DUA, Form 0590-A, entitled “How to File for Unemployment Insurance Benefits.”  Previously, the TeleClaim Center was open on Saturdays to assist recently separated employees in filing new claims for unemployment insurance benefits.  As of July 2011, however, the TeleClaim Center is only staffed Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Employers are now required to distribute the new version of Form 0590-A to workers who are separated from employment in Massachusetts.  The revised pamphlet is available from the DUA website (see link above) and is also attached for your convenience.
