The Firm successfully represented a Hospital client in persuading the National Labor Relations Board to issue a complaint against 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East (the ‘Union’) for threatening employees with discharge if they failed to obtain union membership or otherwise contribute financial support to the union. In addition, the Board rejected the Union’s companion ULP charge (in which the Union accused the Hospital of unlawfully failing to abide by a non-existent union security clause), and dismissed the Union’s appeal.
