New York State Association of Independent Schools
Tri-State Business Affairs Conference
May 4, 2016 – May 6, 2016
Mohonk Mountain House
New Paltz, NY
This interactive program, led by Sara Goldsmith Schwartz, will discuss practical ways to protect your school’s reputation, and even enhance it, when faced with a crisis. For instance, are you ready to respond to: a campus theft that leads to a data security breach; an allegation of sex abuse by an alum against a current faculty member; or an inappropriate YouTube video, posted by a faculty member, that goes viral? Lessons learned from these actual crises provide a platform for addressing practical, lawful solutions to challenging crisis moments: How transparent do you want to be? Are your crisis management protocols up-to-snuff so that you know exactly what to do in the moment? Sara will utilize interactive tools, interwoven into the presentations, such as scripted questions and “hypotheticals” for discussion purposes, to offer attendees an opportunity to participate in the presentation and to maximize the learning experience. Helpful checklists will be distributed.
