Hot Topics In Labor And Employment Law

Over the past few years, the ADA and the FMLA have been amended, enforcement activity across all employment law areas has increased, health care has been overhauled, COBRA subsidies introduced, and court decisions continue to impact employers in a variety of ways.  Changes in the employment law arena are occurring at a dizzying pace!

To help you wade though the chaos, this presentation provides an overview of the most critical court decisions and legislative changes in federal and Massachusetts labor and employment law during the past year.  The presentation also includes highlights of major developments nationwide, to assist multi-state employers in staying current with all applicable laws.

In addition to offering this seminar at the Firm’s annual Fall seminar, we are available to present this program at chambers of commerce, professional consortiums or a client’s workplace, at any time during the year.

Understanding And Implementing The New Overtime Rules

All webinars are held at Eastern Standard Time (EST)

In May 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor (“DOL”) released its long-awaited Final Rule updating the federal overtime regulations, which will automatically extend overtime pay protections to over 4 million workers within the first year of implementation. Did you get it right?

During this 90-minute webinar, Jessica Herbster of Schwartz Hannum PC will:

• Provide an overview of the federal overtime exemptions;
• Explain the key provisions of the Final Rule;
• Identify common challenges unique to independent schools in implementing the Final Rule; and
• Suggest different options for how to tackle those challenges.
