Jaimie A. McKean


Jaimie A. McKean is a Partner at Schwartz Hannum PC. Prior to joining the Firm, Jaimie was a senior litigation associate at Cooley Manion Jones LLP in Boston, where she managed employment and other business litigation cases from inception to resolution. She is experienced in various areas of law, including labor and employment law, contract disputes, trademark and copyright matters, consumer protection cases, insurance coverage disputes, and internal business disputes.

Jaimie routinely represents employers before state and federal courts and agencies in cases involving claims of discrimination and wrongful termination, as well as disputes concerning wage and hour issues, restrictive covenants, contracts, and other employment claims.  Jaimie has extensive experience taking and defending depositions, arguing motions, negotiating settlements and representing clients at mediations, arbitrations, conciliations, and trials.  She is exceptionally skilled in drafting, reviewing, and analyzing pleadings, motions, trial documents, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.

Jaimie regularly assists employers with a broad range of employment practices, such as internal investigations, wage and hour classifications, employee discipline, and employment terminations.   Jaimie also assists colleges and universities with policies and procedures affecting students and employees, including student complaint procedures and Title IX compliance.  In addition, Jaimie conducts training on responding effectively to student complaints of harassment or sexual violence.
